Howdy folks,

Another FAQ post on the Billiard Gods blog.

Most of the time when you get together with a partner during a practice time, you end up just playing each other with no real goal in mind or anything accomplished. You spend a couple of hours together just to bang balls around and no one's skills were improved. That's a wasted amount of time.

If this can help you practice smarter, here's the link to the article:

Good luck, shoot straight!!

Any amount of time I spend with my friends, is not "Wasted Time", and I don't appreciate you judging my friends this way. Lol. Besides it seems better to have this friend get his own damn table and work on individual drills while I am working on myself.

The Devil is in the details.

Some points missing from your article, if you really want to practice with a friend, then throw 15 balls on the table and play equal offense. Keep score and see who does better, give each other constructive criticism to help in each other's development.

Set up series of drill shots and alternate players, shooting each shot multiple times and see who gets the best pecentages on each drill. Use targets to set up position zones and keep score. See if you can get better percentages vs your friend. This will tell the players right of where deficiencies lie and skills they need to work on.

I mean no offense with my post, but if I go out and beat up the rails with a friend, it is never wasted time, it is time well spent with good friends, having good times. Enjoy the times with friends while you can, sometimes you will not get the opportunity to do it again.

For a billiard god I pray you will understand.

Aloha

No worries. Everyone has opinions about practice. Glad to have yours added to this topic. ;-)
