when I play fargo drill alone, what do I do after f.e. shooting 8 balls and missing on the 9th? Do I re-rack and start over?

Yes. Re-rack and begin another inning.

hm, I'd say no, cos at this point there's no real rotation left... for the last two balls, yes, okay.
