Hi, I was wondering if anyone here has any stories they can share about Fast Eddie Parker? We all know the claimed connection between Minnesota (vs. New York) Fats but you seldom ever hear about the inspiration for Newman's character. Apparently, Eddie Parker was friends with Walter Tevis and became the inspiration for Fast Eddie Felson's character.

Fast Eddie Felson is a fictional character... The Hustler was a fictional novel, not non-fiction. And Walter Tevis (Author) was friends with Eddie Parker. Eddie Parker's nickname came from his quickness playing sports at a young age. Apparently, his name was Fast Eddie long before the book was written and the movie came out...
