Dear snooker commentators,
'Beijing' is pronounced 'Bay-Jing'. Do make a little effort, please: China is the future of the game.
I know many Cantonese speakers...to my ears it sounds like 'Bay-zhing'...
...with just the hint of a soft 'j'...a Japanese speaker pronounces the hard 'j'.
Half the time, I still say 'Peking'....like many old Hong Kongers.
