An acquaintance of mine was telling me about Tsunami tips and seemed to really like them. Has anyone on here used them and what have your experiences been with them?

Thanks for the heads-up. I think I'll order some from Mueller's and try them out. I did like the Talisman hard tip initially but after having seen them fall apart in the exact same manner with the center popping out I figure it's time to move on and find something else.

I did go back to a LePro briefly to see if the quality had rebounded but I've observed that they still mushroom like crazy so that option is off the table (no pun intended).

You mentioned that the "center" popped out of your Talisman hard tip. My understanding is that delamination at the center will occur when a Tip Pik has been applied to the tip. Is that what you did to yours.

I have been using Talisman tips for about three years and the center came out of mine one time. I have never used a Tip Pik.

To answer your question, yes, I do have a Tip Pik but I very seldom use it as I'm cautious using tools like that with layered tips. On those rare occasions that I have used it, I don't tap at the tip like I've observed most people doing with it, I just press lightly for a half second. The Tip Pik is a decent tool for a quick fix but that's all IMO. Normally I use a tweeten file with light grade sandpaper on my tips for scuffing and shaping.

Several other players I know or are acquainted with have also had bad luck with the Talisman tip so I doubt the Tip Pik is the sole cause for the misfortune I've had with them. Also, it's not due to a bad batch as I very seldom play and thus rarely visit the local cuemaker for a tip replacement.

The center of my last Talisman popped off. I have had a new one on now for a few months and its holding up good.

Somewhere in one of these threads I read that when factory new Talisman's were "treated" inside of some sort of humidifier, the settings were maladjusted which resulted in delamination. And now that particular problem has been rectified.
