Feeler about a Capone cue - it might be the first one he made!

A friend of mine recently bought a Mike Capone cue. He decided to have it refinished and took it to a local cue maker (Dick Neighbors). When Dick removed the wrap, he found what seems to be a serial number of 00001 and the date, Oct. 1, 1994. Pics can be found here: http://billporter.smugmug.com/Other/Capone-cue/19277649_3wCmx5#1505095295_JJHVvM6

I emailed Mike Capone to ask about the cue and expect to hear back from him today.

If it turns out that this is Mike's first cue, a Capone collector might be very interested in it.

If anyone has any information about the cue, please post in this thread to let us know.

Just found out that it is NOT a Mike Capone cue

Here's the email I just got from Mike Capone:

Bill

The cue was called a Capone cue but not made by me. The cue was made by
a gentleman named Harry Wise. I believe he was from the Illinois or
Indiana area. Apparently he was nicknamed a wiseguy and somehow figured
that Capone would be a good name to use for his cues. I think when it
became apparent that I was making cues and using my own name he stopped
making cues or called them something else.

Harry Wise is from Cincinnati.....Still lives there and made only a handful of cues....Did repairs mostly. Retired from GE, Airplane engines and did cue work as a hobby. Most definitely Harry bought the blank or something because I dont believe he was equiped to make points. Still plays a little locally......

That's interesting. Thanks for the information. I guess it may be the first cue Harry made. He might want it back.
