Fees, Duties, and now Tariffs, holy cow !!

Here’s the issues with buying and selling.
1st) The seller won’t pay for duty fee and such because it has nothing to do with them.
2nd) to be safe I asked my buyer about insurance or on my post, I would put it like this
💲priced (includes shipping & fees)
📦 Insurance available at buyer’s expense
💳 Payment accepted via PayPal, F&F or G&S(4% on top)”

If the buyer want it to be insured at it worth then by all means pay for the fee and they will pay for duty for that as well.
3rd) in case of the cue get damaged or issues, usually if get damaged like crush or broken, the fee would go to seller. Why? First, the packaging need to be safe. I used cue into tube, then tube into a square or triangular box. Everything are stuffed with bubble wrap and tightly to ensure no movement inside. At the end, seller need to find every way to send the cue to buyer’s hand safely. I saw many seller even have it in PCV tube.

2nd) if the cue got confiscated like ivory or rare wood issues, that’s the buyer issues. If the buyer imports or buying something that they broke the law, then it doesn’t fall into seller problem. The buyer should have done his own research of whether or not that cue able to import into his hand safely. As seller, we sometimes know the law and rules but as such only generalize not specifically to every location.

Does that answer your question??
I actually had an incident where I shipped a cue overseas and the Buyer insisted I declare the value at $100. The cue was damaged in shipping. He filed an insurance claim that went no where because you can't claim $4000 on something that was declared to be worth $100. Of course, I was a Piece of Shit for this. Brian.

Yup. That’s why it’s best to have a mutual consent of what needed to be done. Both parties need to understand the pro and cons.

My nephews son just had a package delivered to his house and he had to pay like $60.00 at the door to get it. I almost bought a DeWalt saw on eBay the other day then discovered why the prices was so good. The small print said there would be additional costs on delivery.

It's been like this since the beginning of time. Nothing to do with the current administration. The amounts may have varied over the years slightly. That's why international shipping is ALWAYS a pain in the ass, and most people avoid it at all costs.
I don’t believe that is entirely correct. The de minimis exemption was ended. I could order motorcycle parts from Germany and as long as the value was under $800 there were no fees.

You’re absolutely correct.
You’ll be surprised how many people doesn’t understand or know this. That law/rule changed after oct-1st from Trump administration.

To avoid all the BS just buy domestically no headaches.
You say that but I would say many to most nice Gina / SW and BB are in Asian market or Collector.
There’s only a few left in USA. And the cue maker like Manzino, Joe Gold are trying to finish out their outstanding wait list from Asian order also.

Just saying. 😂 anyhow that’s a totally different subject.

Let me know if I can be any help or service to ya. Most or many cue seller in Canada knows me, so I can help if needed.

what's to beware? new to buying?

taxes and import fees are standard, nothing new

bs paypal fees is on them not the process

trump tariffs have been in the news ad nauseum since inception

Well last month I bought a two Italian Shave Brushes, seller in Spain raised his prices to cover the Tariffs.

Had I bought in July I would have save about $5.00 total.

Could not buy in July, because what I want was not in stock.

yes, if you’re in Europe or Australia.
Probably the same for Asia.

I can help if you’re in USA, i drive to new York weekly to pick up my cues and send out cues lol, and I didn’t charge any shipping fee as my cue sold with shipping included.
This!

By Kenny shipping weekly for the US he skips all this bullshit.

Bless you Kenny!
