Waiting for delivery today of a CF shaft.
Yup, going to the dark side.
Test drove a couple at the Expo this year and the Predator 11.8 felt the most comfortable.
My question is the about the tip.
My new Revo will come with a Predator soft tip.
I have been playing with hard pressed Triangles for years.
Love the sound of the hit and the easy maintenance of the Triangle tip.
Has anybody used a Triangle tip on an 11.8 Revo?
Sorry if this has been covered before.
Probably be like everything else in this game.
It's a journey.

I had a Jacoby black 11.8 and I put a triangle on it, worked for me.

I have an off brand cf 11.5 now with a ultraskin fire (hard tip) same thing, still working for me.

Anybody who uses a triangle tip is good in my book!💪

Interested in your opinion, good luck

Fatboy<——-has never hit a ball with a CF shaft. It’s been that long since I played……

Thank you for all of the replies.
Shaft arrived today.
Was at the poolroom earlier playing sets of 9 ball races to 7.
Then met a friend at the house to play some one pocket.
When we were finished our 5th game the shaft arrived.
Messed with the tip a bit and played a couple more games of one pocket.
It's going to be an adjustment for me.
Feels different than wood through my bridge and the tip has a completely different sound than my beloved Triangles.
Probably fool around with it for a while and then switch over to a hard pressed Triangle.
Thank you all for your responses.

If you like hard tips, you will like them on CF. I'm not using cf, but if you want a really nice one the Zan GripHard are really holding up well for me. I don't notice the weirdness of layered tips, like glue lines and such. Just a really nice tip that drinks the chalk in. Honestly I feel as if soft tips are too muted for my play style so I put hard on anything. Triangle should play well, as well as hard milk dud style tips.

Thanks for all of the advice.
Well, been playing with the new Revo 11.8 a couple of days now.
Got the tip trimmed to my liking but do not like the hit.
Tough to control stun shots when you only want to move the ball maybe just an inch to one side.
Just doesn't feel right.
Will probably switch the tip out to a hard pressed Triangle.
The cue felt a little heavy to me with the Revo so I asked the houseman to pull out his scale.
Sure enough the Revo came in at 4.6 oz and one of my maple shafts was 3.8 oz.
I rotate four maple shafts and they are identical in taper.
Believe it or not I felt the difference in weight.
Have to get used to the taper also.
My maple shafts are 12.25 and have been adjusted to a long taper.

I have Triangles on both Revo’s. Please follow up on how you like the 11.8. Have fun with it
