Well, I got off of work at a pretty early time so I decided to head down to a local Hispanic billiard room. They had three 10 foot Vernhoven (sp?) billiards tables. Hispanics apparently play that kisses don't count in 3 Cushion! 
I played a local guy to 50, ending 50-39 in his favor. He made some nice shots and sometimes ran 3-4 on me, but many points were far and between.
Later on I played the best guy in the house (his claim, not mine) and we ended at 31-9 in his favor before he had to go. He was much more consistent than the first guy I played.
All in all it was a blast! I think it was my 3rd time actually playing 3 Cushion and my second time playing on a 10 foot table. I'd really like to learn more about the game.
Of course I have Byrne's Standard book and Advanced book on Billiards. Are there any other recommended books?
I'm thinking that there are certain generic type shots for given ball positions that I should probably learn. For example, what is the standard shot when both object balls are in opposite corners and your cueball is in the center of the table? I'm not sure what the learning methodology for 3 Cushion is.
In any case, any book recommendations would be appreciated!
