ok, i was about to take everyone's advice on here, and just quit racking and breaking and either just go back to practicing, or just roll the balls out on the table and take cue ball in hand.

the first hour or so last night the balls just didnt cooperate, no decent rolls/spreads, and for the most part just nothing would go down off the break. then, all of a sudden, i got a ball down, and a decent spread. ran a rack. a couple of more racks of no chance, and then all of a sudden once again i got a ball down and a decent spread, and i ran another rack.

then i ran out another.
and then another.
make that 3 in a row.

over the next 45 minutes, i got a few more chances, ended up running several racks. sure felt good to finally see the balls cooperate a little bit. the main thing was i didnt really mess up more than 2-3 other times when i felt i should get out.

yep, even did it on that new Powder Blue Simonis 860, the cloth where the Laws Of Physics dont apply, where the blue color causes bad things to happen. must have been because i was using my Lucasi cue with the Predator Shaft. cant wait to get that Jacoby in a few weeks.

thanks for reading, i know i usually post negative threads, so i thought i would post a positive one this time around.

in the near future the "Newness" of the cloth will wear off, and i will go back to practicing 3-5 hours a day. i want to get my game to the level that some of you other posters on here have achieved. if your an excellent pool player, to me that is certainly admirable.

keep practicing the 3-5 a day. you need to be able to adjust to new cloth as well. if you play in a higher profile tourney, you'll be playing on new cloth. might as well take advantage of the practice with the new cloth you have.

I always loved playing on new cloth. It gets a little slippery, but instead of thinking of the bad things it can do, I like to think of the cool shots i can do that aren't possible on an old cloth. I'll let you in on a fun one, it might help your game, but i just kinda like playing around with this shot. Set up a straight in Shot that you know you can pocket, then just using a draw shot, see how much you can actually make the cueball slip sideways, play with it at different speeds too. Kinda like practicing a masse without jacking up.
