First Stainless Steel Jointed Blackcreek

Overland Tom

Overland Tom
I just had the privilege of purchasing the first SS cue made by Travis Niklich of Blackcreek cues, and found it to be everything I expected. This cue was the culmination of six months work and research on Travis' part to make his first piloted SS joint. As with most BK cues, the quality and workmanship is superb, and the fit and finish is excellent. This one, however, has an added feature -- the hit of a stainless steel piloted joint. I find the hit to be very solid and quiet, which is probably a result of the fully piloted compression fit joint.

It's a great looking cue -- the nose and butt sleeve are of Honduran Rosewood, with an eleforn Hoppe ring, and Travis' signature silver railroad track ringwork. As you can see from the pix, the Rosewood has very pretty grain and color, and it all comes together making a beautiful cue.

I'm a piloted 5/16-14 joint fan. The more the merrier. Always glad to see other CM's making them available.

looks good. i also am a huge fan of SS joints. this stigma of SS being bad is not good IMO. there are alot of amazing players with SS joints

Yeah, it's not hard to find names associated with the SS piloted joint... Some of them pretty widely accepted as knowing what they were/are doing!

Congrats Tom! I'm looking forward to trying some SS jointed Blackcreeks.

Will you be attending the DCC this year?

www.recollectioncues.com Tom, many thanks for having Travis build this cue. As you know, my joint of choice is the 5/16x14 piloted SS or ivory joint for playability. I have always wanted to have Travis offer to craft his cues with this joint. I think that this joint feature will improve both the playability and value of Travis's BlackCreek cues. Hopefully, I soon will be able to order one. Seasons Greetings! Best wishes and God Bless, Paul Del Giudice.
