Fischer 7ft Table

Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum and would like to thank you for having me. I recently pruchased a 7ft Fischer coin op table from an elderly woman in Raleigh, NC. She claimed to have had the table 42 years. She and her husband originally purchased the table out of a bar in Ohio and were told it was old when they bought it. The patent dates on the coin op mechanism are dated in the mid 1930's. Can anyone tell me more about this table? This is my first table and I'm at very best a novice.

My plans for it:
New Championship Invitational Felt w/ Teflon. Good?
Resurface the sides and legs
New bumpers---need adivice---

Thanks!
Walt

My Grandfather has that same table. He tells me that the playing surface is not slate. He states that it is marble. Interesting. I also believe his is a 6' table. The coin mech. accepts a dime.

Played many games on it. Nice table.

Intersting. I read somewhere else that some of these are marble rather than slate. I'm having it recovered after Christmas---I'll see what I can find out...

fischer pool table

i have almost the same table.minus the corner of the box pieces and mine is trimmed different..my aiming sights are metal..i have done some serious work to the table...its slate 32x64 play field...i made my own bar table style rails"super speed cushions",+reason=custom pocket openings.. fabricated coin opp system with 2 1/4 plug cue ball.. rather than the 2 3/8 cue ball originally used on that table ,install magnets in table to return plug ball, wrapped the table box in black vinyl, lined the sheet metal ball track with rubber, made my own replacement pocket gullys, i would like to know if u have original coin op system in your table because im curious..i had to guess what was once there and fabricate it.."u have trap door under ball return i see..that's where the coins drop in to threw a slot on the bottom on the inside of the ball door"...that took me some time to work with.. im still working on helping the legs..and working on finding a replacement chrome bar for ball return..i have dug up some info on this table...i will post pics tomorrow..
we will talk more...
im shocked....i thought these tables was distinct and wouldn't see another..
