allison fisher has been voted player of the year, breaking all records, 8 time player of the year! WOW!!

Tom, Jeanette now makes even less for being 4th but pulls down 500K a year doing what I do, entertaining.
That is where the real money is, not playing 9 ball. Of course playing 9 ball well leads to those sponsors and gigs. The sad part of all this is the top 5 women and the top 10 men should all be pulling down a million bucks a year just in prize money if this sport had been promoted correctly and grown into a real media sport. It makes me sick to see these great champions playing for peanuts compared to other sports, it is a discrace. :D
 
I'm not too sure the money is in entertaining for these top players. It's like that in all sports. The top players make more money from sponsors than the actual salaries they pull down! The doe is in advertising/selling products.

It really saddens me that this country doesn't sponsor or at least allocate more money for pocket billiards and chess. As to the latter, more kids would do better in school and especially in mathematics.
 
Now I feel good for sukking in pool. lol
Maybe this PPV BCN/DCC will be a start of something big for the players.
 
player of the year

I have an issue of pool and billiards Feb. 2000. On the cover it has past players of the year on it. On the cover is Efrin and Allison behind them is a plaque with past winners on it. From what you can see of the plaque Mosconi has 13 player of the years, and Jean Balukas has 12. I am not sure if this was just pool and billiards poll or not. I have read that Mrs. Balukas was so much better than the women of her day that she often played the men and held her on against them.
