Fisher

Fischer

Thank you for responding. I have an opportunity to purchase one and have no idea on its value or quality?

I found a Fischer Duke on Craig's list. It's one inch slate, not sure if it is backed or not. Is this a well built table? Are Fischer tables generally as good as Olhausen tables?

THe one I found is a newer one. It seems like the newer ones may be made in China, which makes me suspect that it is of lesser quality. The problem is that the cl bailey website doesn't provide much detail about the table construction.

I have worked on a lot of Fischer tables and I would rather have an Olhausen myself. If you want a commercial coin op style table(1 piece slate of course), I think they are OK... just OK though. The good thing is that they don't sell for a whole lot, so, you can get one for cheap and it will play decent. GL

Thanks for the input. It seems like people really like their Olhausen tables. That helps my decision.

I had a Fisher table from the early 70s, my parents bought it new, about a year ago I set it up in my basement. After finding out how terrible it played I started looking at used tables. I found an Olhausen on Craigslist but I could not reach the seller, the day after xmas I went on Craigslist to check on the Olhausen and found a 9' Gold Crown I with floor standing cue rack and original cues that came with table all for $300.00. I then put my Fisher in my burn barrel. There is no way I could possibly be happier. Well I suppose if I could play better I would be happier, hopefuly that is coming.
