Fixing small finish flaws

I recently bought a cue and had it shipped to me. During shipment, because the sender did not wrap the cue separately from the shafts, there are some small flaws in the finish where the pieces have rubbed against eachother.

These flaws are NOT dings, just matte areas of finish. I was wondering if there was a method I could use to rub them out or apply a thin coat of finish over the top of those areas.

I am fairly unskilled with finishwork, so the simple solution would be the best...

Any ideas?

If the cue is finnished with clear coat some light buffing should bring the shine back. Use good quality automotive compounds that are not overly abrasive.

3M Extra cut or Finese, then, machine glaze, are what I use to finish cues. Try a local body shop, they might be able to supply you with a small amount of what they use.

just to add,, if the scratches does not come off with the buffing (a little bit too deep for buffing), first wet sand the area with 1500 sandpaper followed by 2000 sandpaper, then do the buffing

Wet sand - wet the sandpaper and the rub the cue lightly, the wash the sandpaper then repeat

Thanks for the help you guys! I will do a little home remedy, since shipping a cue is just not cheap these days!
