Cole, I've actually been using silicone spray the past few months. Now that I hear possible pitfalls about WD-40, I probably won't go back to it, though I know of a guy who didn't hesitate to use it on his SW. But wait a few hours ... somebody's gotta say that silcone's WAY worse!

When I was regular weekend backpacker, which can be a super-sick gearhead scene, you'd hear amazingly complex and expensive solutions to the entire spectrum of no-shit sherlock problems. But I always thought Bill Bryson had the best comeback, in "A Walk in the Woods," his tale about trying to hike the Appalachian Trail as an out-of-shape, middle-aged novice. Some dipshit asked him, "So why did you get a GREGory pack?" He shot back: Because I thought it was better than carrying all my stuff in my arms.
