I am a big fan of the flexable shaft (Meucci, McDaniel etc). What other cue makers offer tapers that produce a lot of snap?

Anthony, just about any cuemaker that can cut shaft profiles can make you a shaft that will have all the snap you want. Dont be afraid to tell them exactly what you want and how you expect your cue to play.

It is not just the taper that produces "snap". It has almost as much to do with tip and ferrule as it does the taper. Meucci, Predator, Dave Barber and My Son's "Z" line cues all use ferrules that produce a lot of cue ball action. I put the High Action ferrules on upon request, but my son really likes them and puts the high action standard on his cues as standard equipment. He solid caps them for added strength.

Can you define the ferrules by material? I.e. xxxxx= high action

Our high action ferrules are made of a higher quality of ABS than you can commonly find in rod form. They are slightly beige color but not ugly translucent like most ABS natural rod is and not quite as soft. One inch long, threaded and solid capped. Chris, are they the same type of material that Atlas billiards offers as alternate ivory? The cream colored ones that are like ABS?

I haven't bought any of Atlas alternate ivory (MPS I think they used to call it) in years. It is different than what they used to carry. Ours are more the color of the old Meucci ferrules not cream but slightly beige or tan.
