Ill be visiting panama city via ontario this month around the 23rd, was wondering if anyone had any info on some nice pool halls down there

I did a search but it kept timing out and saying error

Florida is a pool player's paradise. The state is home to dozens of good pool rooms. Some of my favorites are:

Capone's Billiards, Spring Hill
Kiss Shot Billiards, Jupiter
Planet 9-Ball, Tampa
Doral Billiards, Miami
Sharp Shooters Billiards, Miami
Inside Billiards, Miami
Hollywood Billiards, Hollywood
Player's Billiards, Melbourne
Fast Break Billiards, Longwood

There are many others too. I hear Dan Lavoie has a nice room...haven't been there yet.

nice, how close are those to panama though, im going to have a car but I cant drive too far

Hollywood Billiards (441 and Hollywood Blvd) is the place to go if you're looking for action. All the gamble is down there... The food (full menu) is pretty good there too. That's the spot I'm at every day. Tables are all Gold Crown (I forget if they are III's or VII's) and a few of them play pretty good - only three or so with tight pockets that are good to gamble on - and a few decent ones with bigger pockets.
They have a pretty big / well known Tuesday night 9-ball tournament with a good payout (usually $300/$400 for first).

Theres also Gold Crown Billiards right down the road (Dixie HWY and Hollywood Blvd) - they have some NICE gold crowns in there, real tight pockets and they play good - but not alot of action, infact I don't know of any going on down there.

Then there is Sharp Shooters in Kendal - they have some nice Gold Crowns there - and they keep them in good condition. I love the way these tables play more than any other room. Theres not much action in this room - but you might be able to muster up a game if you stick around - they do have a couple decent players that go in there (Mario hasn't been around in a long time from what I hear).

Those are the rooms I frequent. Good luck.

Typical AZB responses. The OP is going to be in PANAMA CITY-FLORIDA and can't drive far and he's getting suggestions in Tampa, Hollywood, Miami, etc..... Sheesh !

There's a small room with about 4 or 5 tables in downtown Panama City and a larger room called Park In Back. I'll give my brother in Panama City a call (when he wakes up) and see if I can find out more. I'll add it to this post if I come up with more.

( if you head to Hollywood,FL. just go on down to Key West and have a Margarita...... imo :-)

Edited to add: I forgot about the 1 hour time difference and just woke my not too happy brother up at 5:50a.m.
The room in downtown Panama City is The Corner Pocket on Harrison Ave. and they have 10 tables. The Park-In-Back Poolroom is on Hwy.22
There were a couple more rooms that went out of business b/c they weren't making any money. There are plenty of bars & sports bars that have coin tables all around the city.

I would have to totally agree!, But hey since you are going to be in Panama, dont limit yourself to Fl rooms, check out Alabamma and Louisana (although, you might not want to go to Southern Alabama after sun set).

Just Rent/Steal A 'Tour Bus' And Visit ALL The Rooms

The drive from Panama City back up to I-10 is a PITA and then it's quite a ride to Breakers in Mobile,Ala. or the Mississippi gulf coast.

I guess that Starcade Billiards in Fort Walton,FL. is a possibility if you want to take a scenic ride along Hwy. 98 (or is it Hwy. 90 ?)...
