A gentleman from out of town (Sorta well known on the east coast) was playing a local player a little 1 pocket for only 150 bananas a game. The out of towner was shooting jacked up over a ball and during his down stroke his cue, after legally hitting the cueball grazed, another ball causing it to move. They called me over to ask my opinion and the only 1 i could come up with other than them deciding this type of question before playing, was that it is a cueball foul only when this rule is not set before playing. How right was/am I in my assumption..........................mike

From onepocket.org rules-
"One Pocket is played according to the World General Rules 1.16.1, ‘cue ball fouls only’. In the event that a player accidentally moves a ball, the opponent may elect to have the disturbed ball remain in its new position or be restored to its original position. When balls are restored, they shall be placed as close as possible to their original positions, with no advantage to be gained by the offending player. If no official is available to restore disturbed balls, then the players must come to agreement on satisfactory replacement of the disturbed balls prior to continuing play."

This is standard procedure for just about all pool and billiard games, but it never hurts to clarify prior to the match starting. It can become a cue-ball foul if the path of the moved ball crosses the path of the cue ball or other legally moving object ball. It is also a foul if more than two balls are accidentaly moved. It does not matter by what method the ball is accidentaly moved (cue, hand, shirt, etc.)
