hi all,

just wanted to chare this with u all. Ive had some questions before of people asking me what greath player we have in belgium, as almost nobody knows one. Ive always been telling we have greath players, but the financial part dont allows us to compete in big tournaments and get to be know. SO

id like u to present.

Mario lanoye aka SUPER MARIO

he has been in the national tour for several years and a former snooker player who converted to pool some years ago. Has hasnt been playing for some time for personal reasons, but he's back and he has the fire in his eyes. Considered by many the greathest pool player our country have (dispite he's not #1, but thats only numbers...). He will be introduced like this:

=======================================================
Mario Lannoye..... "Super" Mario won over 500 titles in his career, both in Pool and Snooker.
The cool Belgium player played the 1992 EC 9-ball final, when other players who will join him in the 7-ball event where just learning how to walk...
He is a gentlemen for the game and still is a danger for any top player in the world.
Watch out, or you out!!
=======================================================

anyway, this weekend its the SUPER open weert (thx maurice for having this) with a special 7ball ringgame with 8 of the best invited players around. And the last spot has been won by mario. As the entree fee is pritty high, all felow belgium poolplayers put there money together (25-100$ each) and payed for his entree fee (does this happen in the US? nah only in europe will u see this, just tells u how low on $ we are in the poolworld, but how much we trust our national hero's)

So mario will be playing the ringgame on saterday and ALOT of belgium players will be there to suport him. he will play vs

Thomas Engert - "The Lean Machine"
Raj Hundal - "The Hitman"
Ronnie O 'Sullivan - "The Rocket"
Ralf Souquet - "The Kaiser"
Niels Feijen - "The Terminator"
Mika Immonen - "The Iceman"
Marcus Chamat - "Napoleon"

(almost the full musconi cup), so even if im 99,99% sure no one has ever heared of super mario, just being alowed as the last member of the ringgame tells u enough of his possibilites if he's on fire, and he IS!

he's also competing in the 9b open weert tournament, qualifying easy with 4 wins, and 6-3 win over Souquet Ralf to be on the winnerside. Other belgium players will qualify and some are already qualified, but mario is the guy to watch out, if he got the fighting spirit back, ANY player will have to watch out. no matter if u are Alex lely, niels, nvb, or GOD. :D

i cant promise u he will be #1, but i can sure as hell promise ull have a tough match, i hope mario makes it back to the top after his break, and i justed wanted everyone to let u know who i consider one of the greathest belgium pool players. so watch out.

now i hope belgium poolplayers will find the needed 2000$ for the ipt in march. wont be easy to find this kind of money without anything back, just believing in a player, and national proud, but i really hope we can put mario into the ipt quali, and maybe realise the dream every poolplayer has (as me) and see a belgium guy kicking some a** :p

well thats it for this week, sorry no silly solly post, but introducing u a player i and many others are proud of.

Mario....who????

Don't mind the smarties Solly,

I think it's real nice that the other players in Belgium have so much confidence in Mario. Good luck to him and all of you as backers.Wasn't Mario the player you worked out the deal with?

hehe :) no thats isnt the guy, in fact there are 2 guys who might become my future coach, but one is asking alot of money (budo pascal , who qualified for the open weert on winners side with a tough first day together with the dutch top5 (he plays alot of eurotours too and is known as 'The pro') and johan monserez who might do it free if only i had a car to drive to his poolhall everyday wich i dont :) but anyway a coach are future plans. right now i need to get a JOB ASAP!! dont even got money to go to weert and suport the guys out there :( so sad. Ah well im getting to frusty staing at home, think ill go to my crappy karaoke barr and shoot some 100+ runs in straight pool to make me feel a bit better.

gregg; they surely do :)
jnav447: mm didnt know this. thx for the suport :)
all: i know there are always better players out there, just wanted to tell u all a bit more about a guy from my country no one knows, and some might be interested in seeing some of his results.

Sadly, Super Mario doesnt play anymore...moved on to civilian life with his wife on the west coast of Florida. I miss my midget buddy, LOL!!!

for those who are coming to open weert this night to see the 7ball ringgame, here's the song we guys came up to suport super mario.

I HAVE A DREAM...

And in that dream...

THE ROCKET will crash and burn on take-off...

THE HITMAN will miss his target by a mile...

THE LEAN MACHINE will have a power breakdown...

THE ICEMAN will melt in the heat of the fight...

NAPOLEON will have his Waterloo in Weert...

THE TERMINATOR will be terminated...

THE KAISER will lose his throne...

AND SUPERMARIO WILL RULE THE WORLD OF POOL ! ! !

:p im usually not this country crazy , i got liek trazillion nationalities, but i love the spirit there is in our country poolmembers, and i think its even nicer then the result. wheter he loses or wins. We are just all happy mario found the love of snooker again. He was abit in the 'ronney o sullivan' mindblock-thingy.
