I have read of this technique for coat guitars and other instruments, someone has utilized it in yours cues, how the result?

The technique of French Polishing is a waste of time on a cue. But the chemicals use in French Polishing can be used for a sealer or finish on a cue.

The technique of French Polishing is simply making a tight ball of cheese cloth as a pad and dipping it into a solution and briskly coming down back and forth in a swooping motion hitting the the surface of the item you are finishing with the pad in the middle of the swoop. This is done all over the surface and gives a pretty good finish. I got pretty good at doing that when I worked as a Television Cabinet repairman in the late 70's and early 80's. It is also how I came up with the formula for my Shaft Sealer. Not all French Polish solutions are created equal and I feel I have probably come up with the best solution for a shaft sealer. Some use it as a finish for sneaky pete type of cues also.

Now here is why the French Polishing technique is pretty much useless for cues. The cue can be spun at 1500 rounds per minute and the right French Polish can be layed on smooth with the spinning of the lathe. This eliminates the need for the swooping back and forth and only momentarily hitting the cue with the pad.
