Frey Sneaky pete shaft ferrule material?

I have a Frey ebony into maple sneaky pete.

I it bought a few years ago, from a member here that brokers Bob's cues.

The shaft that it came with has a funky ferrule, Does anyone know what material this is?

The ferrule material is a Linen Based Melamine, maybe AEGIS
