Indeed. I also don't get how Alex's fundamentals are pure snooker. Looks like pool to me.
I think that when snooker players take up pool, they have to alter their stance because the table is a fair bit lower than a snooker table. Their feet typically aren't as square as they are when they play on a higher snooker table.
I spoke with a few snooker-turned-pool players, and they echoed my thoughts. They all (conscious or not) had to modify their stance and their stroke a bit because of the change in playing surface heights.
