I am intending to offload this One-of-a-kind Murray Tucker Ebony on Ebony cue.

Cuemaker: Murray Tucker
Year: 2002
Forearm: Ebony forearm with 4 high 4 low Ebony Points with 3 veneers(Blue-Purple-Maple).
Butt: Ebony butt with 4 high 4 low Ebony points with 3 veneers(Blue-Purple-Maple).
Wrap: RingTail Lizard
Ringworks: ABCDE (Blue-Purple-Blue)
ButtCap: Ivory
Joint Collar: Ivory
Ferrules: Ivory
Pin: 3/8-10 Piloted!
Weight: 19 onz
Shafts: 2
Tip Diameter: Both 13 mm
Condition: 95%

From Murray Tucker himself:
FYI that cues name is "big pimpin". The joint is a straight piloted joint where a Lambros is concave/convex. I just used the big pin instead of the smaller 5/16-14 that is normaly used. I have no idea of the secondary market value but I do have some information about the cue that might have a impact.

1: I don't use that joint anymore.
2: This is the first ebony on ebony cue I ever built.
3: This cue has overlaped veneers. I only did a handfull of cues with veneers like that before I learned how to do mitered veneers.
4: This is the first cue I ever put a lizard wrap on.

Asking for $1700 shipped

While that is a outstanding looking cue, it would look sooo much better with a different color wrap.
Good luck with the sale.:)

Benny....I love everything about this cue, except the wrap. I would be willing to lay odds that if you changed it to a black lizard, leather, stack leather, or even black linen wrap...it would fly out the door! I LOVE the colors!! And I bet it hits like a monster with that big pin!!! I really, really wish I had the money for this cue....I would have been all over it at the higher price!

My advice, send it to Painpool and have him put a black elephant ear wrap on it for the 70 bucks and then ask 2k for it ;)

Glad to see I wasn't alone with the wrap comment.:)

I remember seeing this cue when it was new, and the wrap was new and brighter, more definition between the black and white in the ringtail. I am not so sure I am a fan of lizard wraps, now that I own a cue with one. From a collector's standpoint, they can make a cue look amazing....from a players standpoint, well, I know the wrap is there!! It's a personal preference thing.

IF it were my cue, and I wanted top dollar on the sale, I would have the cue refinished, to remove any dings/scratches, have the shafts cleaned, and then I would have a black Stack leather wrap put on.....I think the cue would be simply AMAZING. Man, I wish I had the money for this cue!!!!!

When Murrey and I were talking about this cue design the ringtailed lizard was right. But now after seeing it "played" I think its to dirty and doesn't do the cue justice. But its a great cue.

Joe,

Come one....tell the truth. You just didn't want a certain person accusing you that you stole the design from somewhere else. :p

Sean

All jokes aside, I've always thought that was a cool looking cue. Not sure what wrap would look best, though. I think it would be hard to beat white/double black speck linen....maybe elephant. Slick black might be too gaudy.

Murray, Joe is right, when you first finished that cue, the lizard did really set the cue off.....I knew it wasn't my imagination..Lol. And you may well be right with the white/double speck black linen. Who knew that the ringtail lizard would 'age' the way it did?! Still a gorgeous cue....some people just can't see the forest for the trees!!

Its a copy of a Joss West influenced Capone with Barry Szamboti veneer colors, made by Murrey Tucker, shipped by US postal.. BTW when you ship a cue USPS you are copying my shipping.. please cease and desist..

You've been spelling my name wrong for almost 10 years now. If you don't stop I'm gonna fly up there and flog you with a piece of ebony.

I'd think black phenolic forearm, cored with rosewood would give more stiffer hit? :D :D :D :D
