FS: 6PT Ebony Andy Gilbert $900 Till 8/22/08

This is my personal playing cue the i am interested in selling. Its a 6pt with 3h/3L of highly figured curly maple points. The point are perfectly even and razor sharp. It has a leather lizard print wrap install by my good friend Robbie Tims. As you can see it comes with two custom OB1 shafts. 1 of the shafts have a slight slight wobble and the other is straight. Nothing that will effect play and it does roll straight together. This cue weight 18.4 and 18.5 depending on the shaft. The shafts come with a relatively new wizard tip and the other is a everest. These shafts have only been worked on by Royce of OB1 cue shafts, Ron Guyer, or James Hanshew, which all are professionals. This cue has been well maintained by me being the only owner of this cue. Its does have a few surface diings from people swinging their cues around and bumping into it. Just below the joint the finish has seemed to bubble up, but nothing drastic, only minor. Alll and all this a beautiful looking and incredible playing cue. I am asking $900 cash, but would be interested in a trade of cash and a good sneaky to play with until my Hanshew is finished. Please feel free to message me or email me with questions and offers. My personal email is LPM411@yahoo.com. Thanks

That's a nice looking Gilbert. I do want to point out that if the wrap was done by Robby....it was done well! Also, it is awesome you also know James Hanshew, Ron, and Royce. James is one of the great unkown cuemakers. I would love to see the cue he is building for you. In fact, I might just call him up!

Good luck to you on your sale. I do know all the guys you mentioned and can definitely asure anyone of their quality of work!

Thanks a lot for the kind words, yea Robbie and James are personal friends of mine and class act guys. Im actually going to Hanshews tomorrow to finish the details of my cue. i know he has made a couple passes on it so im anxious to see the progress. Thanks again.

For those the might be interested in the great gilbert, I believe I do have access to 1 original gilbert shaft with an old micarta ferrule installed by Roger Allen in houston. Im still accepting cash and trade offers. Thanks

yeah, I'm good friends with both of them myself.

Do the rings on the Gilbert shaft match this cue? Would you be interested in selling the Gilbert shaft separately?

Are you asking on the 3rd shaft I just posted? If you are the yes its the original shaft that came with the cue. Roger is another good friend of mine and he was nice enough to sell and install an old micarta ferrule on it for me. It plays like a monster, it was just very hard to play with after I got use to playing with the OB1's.

Hey AZers this cue is still available. Im still interested in the cash deal, but would do a cash and sneaky trade. Shoot me a message and we can talk about a deal. Thanks for looking.

Thanks Kennan. Its cool on the cue. You run a great tournament, i enjoyed it, even though im playing pretty bad right now. I will be back next month and will snap it off. You need to post some of that collection you have on here. You have some awsome inventory.

pm sent for cue. cue looks great by the way.........hows the ob shaft compare to a 314 and how much of a pain is it to retip? i know that usually the ferrule is able to be trimmed when the old tip is removed off of a standard ferrule material but since it is maple does anything special need to be done as far as replacing that carbon disk? probably all stupid questions....

Actually those are great questions. OB1 are as easy as anything to retip. The only problem you can really run into is the carbon fibre will dull a standard steel cutter over a short time. Most repair professionals use carbon cutters now anyway so changing the tip would be as simple as a regular maple shaft. As far as the comparison of the 314 and ob1, they both are very close on the low deflection scale, what I love more about the ob1 is the consistency of the reaction to a shot. I know what it will do everytime. With the 314 I had it reacted somewhat inconsistant, again thats just my opionion on it. Thanks

Still looking to deal on the monster playing gilbert. If we deal well enough I might even throw in a original shaft with old micarta. Holla at me and lets talk.

Someone buy this cue already. It has 6 points. Sharp. Two Ob-1 Shafts with matching ringwork. Frank is even willing to get his hands on the original shaft with a micarta ferrule. Someone buy it already. Frank is a stand up guy from what I've been told. Someone help him out here.

6pt Gilbert - $1200 -$1500 on the cheap side

2 Matching OB-1s from Gilbert or Royce Probably around $400 (Ob-1 Shafts have a lifetime warranty I believe)

Original Gilbert shaft with Micarta ferrule has to be at least $200

Someone buy this so my boyfriend will stop salivating.
