This JOSS is plain four point ebony, 3/8-10 pin SOLID Ivory joint, what amazed me is the Ivory blocks in the ring work. 2 shafts with Ivory ferrul's. The cue could use a cleaning, but its still absolutely stunning! $1500 obo. Please PM me with any Spec questions etc. Thanks

Shafts

The Shafts are being cleaned by Jerry Powers of Jerico cues (Stinger Jump/break) tomarrow. More to come.....

are you positive that its ivory in the ring work ? ive got an ivory jointed Joss from that era and the joint collar design work is plastic. You can tell by looking at it real close and the white has an almost translucent look, whereas ivory is more opaque. btw Ive got the same design at the joint that you have

Pretty sure

It looks grainy just like Ivory etc. Im going to be taking macro close ups....Ill get those posted this evening.

Make Offer

This is a nice cue, shafts were cleaned by Jerry Powers, can provide pictures if needed. I personally think this is a JW instead of a JOSS.Compare the ring work to others of this era. your input would be appreciated...

Josswest cue

what are the sizes and weight of the shafts? Are both shafts and the butt straight seperate and apart? is there anything wrong with the cue in any way? Thanks, Mason

You never answered the above questions in this thread. If you PM'd Deacon, would you share the answers with the rest of us? You just might get an offer.

Thanks, Dave

info

sure, The shafts are near 12.70, I dont have calipers but guessed based on another cue, also weight is around 20oz. I can have all of the weight and diameters measered this week. The cue rolls straight and is good condition for being over thirty years old. Good meaning solid hitting, nothing lose, a couple of minor dings. However, in order for it to be perfect, I would send it to Scott at profecient billiards for a refinish. I also have the email from Bill Stroud as stated previously. Thanks

line?

I didnt think the price was out of line for an Ivory jointed JW. Again, I have an email from Bill Stroud confirming its auth., or is everyone turned off because the buttcap has been replaced?

$1500
How do you know it is a Joss West, and not just an old joss?
Without the JW, it seems as though it would probably go for the mid 200-300 range.

Seriously?

You cant be serious, I have an email from Bill Stroud that states he made it in Aspen, therefor its a JW and if you can find me an early JOSS or JW with an Ivory joint for 200-300 Ill take 20 of them

I am not looking for one. Maybe because it has a plain Jane look about it and more a players cue, it has had little interest?

I love the plain Jane's for bar hopping. ;)
