FS/Trade - 60" Paul Sumrall Custom - Ambonya Burl Points into Ebony w/ Leather Wrap
No longer available as of 2:00PM CST, 6/13/2013.
Rather than admiring this beautiful Sumrall cue from afar, you can own it! $600 shipped same day payment is received! Have something to trade? PM me and let's work something out.
Reason for selling/trading is quite simple. 60" is a world of difference to me, being a tiny bit taller than 5' 7".
I have a gorgeous 60" (even split; 30"/30") Amboyna Burl into Ebony custom cue by SS Cues' Mr. Paul Sumrall. As to not reinvent the wheel or mince words and details (previous owner knew MUCH more than I), I hope he'll forgive me for using his description of what I have. Then, I'll let the high resolution pictures do the talking.
Butt/Forearm:
The Gabon Ebony butt and forearm weighs exactly 14.2oz with no weight bolt. A weight bolt can be added up to an additional 1.1oz, making the weight obtainable between 18.1oz - 19.2oz.
It has 4 razor sharp highly figured Amboyna Burl points. The butt cap is also Amboyna Burl!
Balance is forward at about 20" (about 3.5" above the top of the wrap)
Excellent execution of black leather textured wrap!
Shaft:
Shaft is AAA solid maple, straight grain and is in almost brand new condition with no dents or "bluing". The finish is smooth as silk. Brand new Kamui Black Super Soft tip is installed.
The joint is an "Iv**y" half joint collar with a 3/8x10 pin.
Shaft weight is 3.9oz and dead straight.
Shaft is extremely high grade maple with very tight straight grain, which looks to be about 18-20 rings per inch (Shaft is .8450" at the joint, so it is hard to get a completely accurate ring count). There is zero run-off on the center grain ring from the joint to the tip. That with the ring count puts the shaft wood in the top tier of all Maple shaft wood)
Shaft diameter at the top on the 1" Ferrule is .4960" or 12.60mm.
