Full, Half and Butterfly spliced.

Can a cuemaker please explain to me the difference in a Full, Half, and Butterfly splice from the construction, difficulty level, and issues, as in warping? Do they hit different? Are all of these types of cues solid, without a wieght bolt? What are the advantages or disadvantages?
