I always thought "Full Splice" deals with the points and the way they are cut. If they are pointed like in your pictures they are full spliced. If they are rounded at the top like on a Joss and/or Schon, then they are cut with a CNC and are not a full splice.

I hope this helps. Full Splice is old school and considered more custom (hand-made) than hight prodution cues made by machines. ;)

Actually, full spliced is where the 4 prongs and the handel are the same piece of wood and it is "spliced" together with the forearm in just two pieces. There is then v-groove inlaid points where there are the same grooves cut in the forearm but each point is a seperate piece with a separate handel consisting of 5 pieces. Then of course there is the cnc'd points which are mostly rounded, but don't have to be. where the inlayed points are reasonably shallow and decorative. I'm sure there are more types of points, but these are the main three.

The original poster was joking when he asked if it was full spliced as all Hercek's are full spliced.

Zack

The points and handles are one piece but most including hercerk will splice again on the handle to control the weight go to herceks webpage and look in the gallery and you will see some blanks

From what I have read... the v-groove points are commonly called the 'half-splice' and are used by most cuemakers.

If you don't understand splicing, I agree with the previous post... go to Hercek.com and look at his photos. They illustrate the splice method very well...
