We are playing our wednesday night session. Unknown guy walks in the door and asks "Hey anyone wanna play partners for $100 a rack". Me and the guys laugh as this guy. I said nah, but i'll play just you for $20 a rack. He says he cant make a livin off $20 a rack so he wants parners for $100 rack. So my friend tells the guy "Race to 5, for $100 bucks". The guy says no he wants to play partners. So again my friend says "Aight $100 a rack, just me and you". This dumb guy is still stcuk on the partners issue. So i say aight me and my friend will play partners with you for $100 a rack, but I get 2 pick your partner. The guy says heck no, haha. Well of course i know a hustle when i see one, so this guy should know by now that none of us are that stupid. All in all, when someone keeps insisting they want to play partners for $100 a rack, but will not play one on one for $100 a rack. I guess thats a hint that "someone" cant play the game, LMAO. And to think this dude would call himself a so called HUSTLER. Sounds like someone needs to go back to school...haha.....=-)

Who would do that?!?!?

Why didn't you agree to the $100 bet, be his partner, dump on him and rattle the nine, take his money and split it with your friends? I think someone making propositions like this couldn't make a living at all!!!

He already has his partner chosen sitting somewhere in the bar. I figured this, because when i asked IF i could pick his partner, he told me No. So that was a clue that he had something up his sleeve. But hell if he would have let me, then yeah i would have done exactly what u said. But i figured since he wasnt going to let me pick his partner, then i guess i cant be his partner either. Going back tonight to see if MAYBE he shows back up, hehe....=-)

Well, he isn't going to take YOU as his partner. That's the oldest hustle in the book! Seriously, I rarely (if ever) turn down the out-of-towners that think they're road players and can honstly 90% of the time, they're no better than C players. I can remember three times I turned down a game and all three were GREAT calls on my part.

I turned down Ronnie Alcano because I refused to play a Filipino I didn't know.
I turned down a 19 year old Eugene Staliv because he seemed WAY TOO CALM about playing for $100 a set.
I turned down John Schmidt because I vaguely thought I saw him playing in the US Open Straight pool.

He also could have been just checking to see who had enough money on them to be worth rolling in the parking lot.

Those $100 offers ...

Can get you into trouble. I will never forget the night
down at Shooters when Jr. Brown (very very good)
offered 1 $100 game of 9 ball to anyone before closing
time and they could have the break.

They guy that was pretty drunk and about a 4 shooter
on a 2-12 9 ball scale took him on his offer, and
broke the balls, making the 9 ball on the break.

He took Jr.'s $100, told him Thank You, and headed
straight out the door. Jr. just stood there bewildered,
all the while trying to get 'another' game in .... lol

It was funny ...

Yeah this is true, but IF that was the case. I'd have 2 say he definately choose the wrong place for that. Since im a regular and i also play league there. That guy would have 2 be stupid to wanna roll in the parking lot. Either stupid, or he better hope he brought his army with him, LMAO.......=-)

LOL - Yeah, that happened to me and a buddy one night at a place where we both worked but were off. A couple of dudes that we beat out of like $8 wanted to follow us out and 'steal our cues'. We heard them talking about it and when we went to leave I told them, "oh, by the way, we're leaving now, so if you want to follow us out, beat us up and take our cues, now would be an excellent time to step outside." They looked confused :)

Cheers,
