So, if you are a hall of famer, you get an automatic "bye"? thats horsedooky! I know they want to keep the marque players IN the tourny, but WTF? go have a hall o fame tourny somewhere, I'll go watch!, but to hand the first round to them is just wrong. I guess someone will say, " well, they earned it by paying thier dues or whatever". I'm gonna go find some action tonight from some young gun and tell him he needs to pay me up front for the first couple of games cause I have more experience then he does. I might also just wear a steel cup!:)......Gerry

It saddens me that Grady Matthews, who deserves to be in the Hall of Fame but isn't, won't be in that list of players with byes. I don't agree with the bye system, but if they're gonna have it, I wish Kevin or Deno would include Grady in this group. He deserves it.

The same with Hopkins (if Hopkins is in the HOF, I apologize :)). Why defer to the BCA and their politics if the idea of this tour is to make a new start?

Just my opinion. But I hate to see these guys who have given so much to the game continue to get screwed by the BCA.

I have to disagree. These Hall of Famers have contributed more to pool in their time, even through the lack of the money or fame that other endeavours may offer. If they get special recognition, it is deservedly so.

Think of it as years of paying dues for the common cause of pro pool players and finally getting that pension check.

I believe Grady's a no-nonsence type of guy. He may have stepped on some toes along the way. Although this is purely conjucture on my part it's not totally out of the realm of possibility. He states his position on a subject and stands by it. I'd rather be around his type than a backstabber anyday. Yet in the overall weight scale of issues here Grady tips the scale favorably.

I agree with you 100% that he should be included in this group. I met him once up in Columbus and he was very personable to me and others. Very willing to give advice and answer questions. I felt like I was already acquainted with him from a previous time.

This is more than recognition Marissa. Please give them all the recognition possible. Have a hall of fame tournament in conjunction with the IPT event and pay all spots and then let's have a real competiton. The way i read it, they are getting 2 byes also- No Hof'r even plays until 24 of the others have been eliminated

So far their first two tournaments are shams. I hope this isnt a trend.

Then lets hope the powers that be realize this sham set-up can't go on for long and will adjust accordingly. If the reality TV portion goes over big which I think it will, then the sham could go on...nothing like filming everyone *****ing.

That is some payday, even if you go out in the first round you get $6200 which aint to shabby! If your a hall of famer it's a guaranteed $30,000 payday? Personally, I'd rather not see the hall of famers have an automatic bye but that aint as bad as Sigel getting an automatic spot in the finals.
