We are proud to announce that the Belgian carom and pool table manufacturer Gabriëls has been added to the Dutch organisation of Loontjens Biljarts per November 2003. Through this move, the long existing and world famous names Gabriëls and Horemans will ensure their future in the best possible way. Loontjens Biljarts acquired Roothaert, a similar traditional carom table maker, in 1998 and relaunched a high quality carom table line using the excellent Roothaert name. By joining forces with Gabriëls and Horemans all these well-established names in the billiard scene will enhance their market shares throughout the world. By combining the plants of Gabriëls and Roothaert in the Loontjens billiard factory in Best in the Netherlands the ultimate high-end, high-tech and at the same time one of the largest table making facilities in Europe is established. Worldwide sales are guided through the Loontjens Biljarts headquarters in Middelburg Netherlands.
The addition of Gabriëls to the Loontjens billiard factory strongly continues the long existing traditions in the making of billiards. The individual table makers have a long history: Roothaert was established in 1887, Horemans in 1893 and Gabriëls in 1932. Loontjens has been in the billiard trade since 1920. Horemans was in 1995 bought by Gabriëls. In the new setting, Horemans will continue as a label for high-end combination billiard tables, adjustable for playing both pool, snooker and carom. Roothaert will continue as a traditional line of high quality carom tables and Gabriëls will, as before, specialize in modern style high-end carom and pool tables. Minor changes in the programs will be introduced, however keeping a strong focus on the long existing identity of each name.
Not only excellent billiard names and products are put together, also the experts Thierry Gabriëls, Peter van de Hurk (Roothaert) and Rudy Loontjens will share their forces and know-how to keep up with and to even improve the high production quality standards in the making of billiard tables. Thierry Gabriëls will also become responsible for export sales together with the existing sales team at Loontjens Biljarts under the supervision of Rudy Loontjens. In the Benelux, the Gabriëls dealer network will be enlarged.
The actual combination of famous billiard names under the new organisation claims to be the ultimate supplier in high-end billiards covering long term and highest quality products and excellent service. At the Billiard Congress of America tradeshow in Las Vegas next April, Loontjens Biljarts will present itself with Gabriëls, Roothaert and Horemans.
We at Loontjens Biljarts and Gabriëls Leisure have joined forces to guarantee the continuation of the strong billiard names of Gabriëls and Horemans. Together we will follow up on Gabriëls agreements and contracts made in the past.
With kind regards,
Rudy Loontjens Thierry Gabriëls
