i was recently in a pool hall and a guy showed me a training drill called the gauntlet. it was a 9 ball practice game. i'm wondering if anyone else has heard of it, and if anyone knows the correct way to set up the balls( i wasnt smart enough to remember how they were set)

That is one of the drills that Bert Kinister teaches. This and several other Bert Kinister drills is what Niels Feijen used to get to the level that he's at. I don't remember how he set it up but if you do a search for Bert Kinister tapes online you should be able to find the tape on the gauntlet. amc4
