Yes, he is.
At the American Cuemaker's Association's Hall of Fame induction ceremony for Jerry Franklin (at the Hopkins Super Billiard Expo in Valley Forge), it was announced that Ernie was unable to attend the ceremony (he is another Hall of Famer) due to his being ill. I don't really know much more than that.
