Gladiator to Child in One Set! (longish)

Last night I went to play at one of the local rooms against their house player. The table there is very fast and plays tighter than any other table in the area by far. Normally I take an hour or so to adjust, however, the changes I have been working on in my game seemed to come together last night and I was fairly on stroke.

Now to the story...

I ended up playing well. I won the set 7-1 and the only opportunities I presented my opponent was one dry break, and CB foul off another break, and two kicks out of strong safties. He was very unhappy that I washed him in his own room. He then asked for a spot of 3 on 7! 3 on 7!!! This player is a solid AAA, probably the equivalant of a medium to strong B player by the ratings here if I am guessing correctly.

The worst part, when I said no to the spot and tried to get him to play another set, for FREE, just for practice for a tourney this weekend, he said no and wouldn't even let me drive him home his was that pissed.

He is a friend I have known for years! This is silly! We were only racing for $20!

Anyone else have some sad but true stories about strong players that break down mentally at the first sign of a battle?
