Glue Brushes

I'm getting f :D :D king tired of those cheap metal glue brushes. I takes me twice as long to pick the hairs out of the glue than it does to put the glue on the wood. Can someone please advise me of a place I can get some decent brushes that won't fall apart when they get within a foot of the epoxy?

I gave up and started using sponge head brushes.

Try high quality (expensive) artists brushes used for oil painting. Stiff bristles, many sizes, bristles don't come out until brush is very old ( I know), and stands up to solvents for cleaning. This type of brush actually does a better job of distributing glues than a disposable, and lasts long enough to be cheap in the long run..

What kind of solvent, do you use, to clean them?

Hi, Tracy...
Epoxy can be cleaned (before it sets) with lacquer thinner, then rinsed with detergent. Water soluable and water resistant glues can be cleaned with soap and water, also before they set and dry.

Thanks, I didn't know that. I usually, just use pop-cicle sticks and toothpicks. I always seem to make a mess, when I get around epoxy :) Now, I don't have to.

Hello To All....

There is a very simple solution to using those cheap brushes. Yes, the bristles do occasionally fall out. All you need to do it take a pair of pliers and crimp the end of the metal where the bristles are. Problem solved. It works for me.
