I have it leveled and covered however what is the process to install the skirts on the rails? Can the rails be set on the table the skirts be set up under the rails some how or do the rails have to be upside down place the skirts in place and the flip over and the ball box last? Thanks for any help and input!

What model Gold Crown? On I's and II's there are extruded aluminum cleats on the aprons that fasten to the extruded aluminum rail trim.

gold crown help

it is a late model 1 with adjustable feet! From looking at the illustrations the ball box and return has to mount first? then the left side rail etc?

If you have someone working with you, you can assemble the rails and skirts upside down, then flip the entire assembly. However, this will require leaving one of the foot skirts off, and installing the ball box after the top assembly is installed.

If you're working by yourself, you can install the rails, then the skirts, and finally, the ball box. The easiest way, is to lock one of the long sides in place, while ensuring that you have the adjacent foot skirt close by. You can hold the long skirt in place, while then placing the foot skirt, and installing the clamp.

what about the "wings", the plastic pieces that cover the ball return and go under the table?

I have the plastic "wings" on my GCI and Im glad I do but what a pain in the backside to install them, I had to have my wife help because her hands are much smaller. Maybe I did not assemble it in the correct order but I bolted the rails on and got them all squared up then I installed the rail blinds and ball box then when all that was done we installed the plastic gully skirts.
I miss having having my young sons for child labor reasons. when they were 6-12 years old or so I always sent them under the dashboards with tools and instructions to do the tasks I had a hard time reaching.

I screwed the skirts to the aprons and my mechanic hung them as a unit.

Rex do you have photos on the 2 items that are on the wings that mount to the ball box? I am thinking mine are missing something! Correct me if wrong but I’m going to mount the ball box and work out from there. I need to run out for a few hours when I get back I can post photos of where I’m at, thanks for all the input

There are L brackets on the aprons that are used to attached the ball box to the apron via machine screw. My mechanic did not fasten them.

Does the ballbox have screws that go up in to the rail? Or just the sub frame? Thanks

It depends. Some do, some don't. Mine has the same extruded cleats as the aprons so mine only screed into the frame. Earlier versions screwed into the rail and frame.

You will not get the aprons on with them attached at the corners. You should start with the ball box, they a long apron (get it hung), hang one of the small aprons, bolt the brackets together in that corner, hand the head apron, bolt the brackets in that corner, hand the other long apron, bolt the brackets together then finally the last short apron and bolt the brackets together. You shouldn't tighten the corner brackets all the way (finger tight) until you get all the aprons properly aligned.

Ok thanks! Yesterday part of it was straightening out the brackets from being bent when we loaded and brought it back to TN from PA, tonight I am going to attach the ball box, I did look and found that the box had screws that went in on the top rail outside of the counters, once I took more time to do it all in my head and look at the pages you posted it started to take shape. It’s been many years since I last watched Ernesto do one in the L. A. Area, thanks again for the help
