Hi,

I am in the process of finding someone to replace the cushions on my Gold Crown 3 and possibly tighten the pockets.

One place i contacted stated, they just use a template from a diamond table if i want my table to play more like a diamond.

I was wondering if its this simple?.. something tells me it is not this simple

Thanks for your time,

A few pros on the forum can help you out possibly.

For a sense of the scope of work you can see some project pics here by who I believe to be Jack Zimmerman. Who just happens to be one of the pros active here.

To try and answer your question. I don't think it's that simple.

Want a Diamond?? Buy one. All you need to do is sub-rail extensions with new rubber and facings. Make the corners 4.5-4.25" and your GC3 will be plenty tough.

I wonder what "using a template from a Diamond table" means??? 🤣🤣🤣
It doesn't sound like these are the guys that you want to use.

Maybe using a template to match the angle opening by trimming thick pieces of rubber to replicate the pocket opening, then recovering rails? Other than that I have no clue.

That would not make for a very nice playing table.
Sounds more like "using a template" is talk from an alleged table mechanic who doesn't know his job too well.
