Gold Crown Questions???

These might be dumb questions but all I've ever had room for or owned are bar boxes. I have more room now and have been looking for an 8' table in my area (Omaha, NE). I found a Gold Crown III model AK. My question is what does the "model AK" mean? Is it different the normal GC's at the pool hall? My last question is, can one be moved in a long box Dodge pickup truck. I ask because it's about 180 miles from me an I'd like to avoid renting a Uhaul if possible but have never moved one or seen it unassembled. Thanks in advance.

I have no idea about the AK...

If your rig is a full size truck, no problem getting it all in in one trip. The table breaks down to small components with exception to the long aprons.

You could fit it in a smaller truck but I would be concerned about the weight.

Slate is supposed to be shipped upright, btw. I have moved slate horizontal and stacked with no problems. That was short distances though... Make sure you drive carefull so you do not crak the slate.

I don't see why it would be a problem if it was laying flat but I have been told, by pros, to never move it horizontal... Since slate is so expensive, I'll listen to them ;)

The AK part got the best of me, too. If no one comes up with the answer, contact Brunswick:http://www.brunswickbilliards.com/need_information/contact_us.html they're really good at helping with questions like yours. Good luck.

Thanks for the link. I submitted the question to them. I searched Ebay and came up with a GC III "model AK". I submitted the same question to the seller and they replied that they had know idea about the "AK" either.
