Thanks, since I'm a relatively new poster and wasn't aware of all these threads that are causing you so much angst, please forgive me and I'll gladly remove the offending post. - another ScottSnapshot9 said:go to the dentist as have another Golf vs Pool thread.
It rates about like my archery style vs. my Pool style.
Don't sweat it runscott. You can do one of two things when this happens. If you make a post like said post & you get said reply.... tell them A) not to read it. You're not making anyone click on a thread & read it. There are quite a few topics that are posted that do not interest me... I don't open them. Or you can B) do as you so graciously did (I never would've done it, but I'm not the nicest person on the earthrunscott said:Thanks, since I'm a relatively new poster and wasn't aware of all these threads that are causing you so much angst, please forgive me and I'll gladly remove the offending post. - another Scott
Yeah, I did the search prior to posting. I have belonged to several forums in the past and I know how some of the veteran posters can get miffed when a "newbie" asks about something they've already beaten to death (I've gotten miffed so I try to be careful). But I couldn't find anything that actually compared golf handicaps to APA handicaps, so I thought I'd ask. I figured the worst that could happen was that someone would point me to a thread with the answer.Timberly said:Don't sweat it runscott. You can do one of two things when this happens. Or you can B) do as you so graciously did (I never would've done it, but I'm not the nicest person on the earth) and then you can go to the menu bar & do a search on the topic you're inquiring about. The only time I get really annoyed is when I see "who is your fav player" posted. I look at how long the person that started it has been on the board & how much they've posted. New people obvioulsy weren't here when the topics were discussed. As is the case with you.

I'm actually curious because I'm a terrible golfer, but have never put the kind of practice into it that I do with pool. So it would give me an idea of my potential...I think. In any case, no big deal - I'll discuss at the pool hall with some players I know who have made the transition. Thanks.

Oh...and they both require some imagination....![]()
If you want to talk here on the forum...Drivermaker would be a good starting point. If you make it over to Athens this wkend I'll introduce you to a Pro player that's also very good on the golf course. He's always willing to talk to people about pool & golf. Actually quite a few of the Pro's play quite well & I'm sure wouldn't mind discussing it with you.runscott said:I'm actually curious because I'm a terrible golfer, but have never put the kind of practice into it that I do with pool. They both take good hand eye coordination and putting the ball where you want it.
