I seem to have a big weakness when it comes to rail shots, like Ill get maybe 1/25. Where bank shots are not so bad at about 1/10, what are some good tips for improving these two typers of shots?

grady does have a great tape on banking.....might want to look at it

theres all these systems, but all you can do is just hit alot of banks and file them away. I read an article that said most pros dont use any system, they just do it by feel, and after trying to memorize some of those systems and use them in play i agreed with the article and now i do too lol.

for rail shots, best i can tell you is just do your best to hit the ball and cushion at the same time, shoot softer, the harder you hit it the smaller the pocket gets. Of course there are times where you need to slightly hit the cushion first but thats a running thing and we're working on walking right now.

You'll probably get a lot of suggestions about how to shoot rail shots. Some say to hit the ball and the rail at the same time. Some will tell you to hit the rail just barely before the ball. I've tried all these methods, and the technique that works best for me (amazingly well as a matter of fact) is to shoot the shot as though the rail isn't there and you're just cutting the ball in. Try it. I can even run balls down the long rail on snooker tables using this method. Not an easy thing to do. Good luck with your game.
