wow i couldn't be happyer. i have always shot with low end cues. for about 3 years i shot with the mueller sneaky pete pro. and it was a fine cue for the money. I thought i would try a higher end cue and broke down and got the SP Predator cue wood to wood joint. it hits great. I didn't know if all the hype was true and for the most part i think it is. plays great hits good and i do notice that when i use side and such i don't have to adjust my aim very much at all. the only thing is i think it has a lepro hard tip on it. maybe it is just because it is hard but i've always liked a meduim tip. the more i play with it i'm sure i'll get use to the tip. the more i shoot with it the more i enjoy it. just wondering what anyone else thinks about it. i don't post much on here but i read a lot on here. i don't have any good players around here. i'm from North West iowa, Storm Lake. So i don't get to talk to people who are serious about pool a lot. So maybe i can meet some friends on here. Hopefully i can find some people who live kind of close that are good shooters so i can get better. i think i've hitt the point where i'm not getting any better because i don't play anyone that is better than me. hard to learn from always kicking butt right? haha Anyway feel free to send me a PM to bullsh!t about pool or whatever. Todd

Good luck with that cue. I was saying in a previous post how much I love my new 314 shaft...

That's great Todd. Hope you enjoy your new cue. Are there any pool halls where you live? Do you have your own table at home? Personally, I don't care for the Predators. I have sold a bunch of them and have friends that love em. Keep in mind, high end around around here starts at about $2,500 up to $25,000. Crazy huh!

Congrats on your new Predator. I just bought a Z Shaft for my Schon and I've never shot better. For me, pocketing balls hasn't been a problem...been doing that at an all time high. My shape has been a little iffy but that's even coming around now. I attribute this to the fact that my aiming point on the object ball is slightly different with the Predator.

If you're used to playing with a cue that has a lot of defelction than it may take some getting used to.

New Predator

Yeah, new Predator!! I did the same sort of thing as you - had a cheap cue for a couple of years (McDermott's Gen-you-whine), then it got crushed in a contretemps with an airline luggage handling system. I ordered a custom Barringer at that point, but it took like three years to get it. So, meantime, I bought a used McDermott D3 butt (w/ warped shaft) real cheap, and got a 314 shaft matched to it (not so cheap). It definitely took some getting used to, but well worth it, and a major step up. Then I played with a Scruggs sneaky pete one night, and had to get one of those too, so I did. Then I played with a Schuler cue, which was the nuts as far as I'm concerned, so you know, I bought one of those too. (I'm scared to play with other cues now, because I'm out of money :o ) Enjoy that Predator - you could spend a lot more without getting any better performance.

no there isn't any real pool halls in my town. probably des moines or omaha would be the closed real pool hall. Otherwise there are some smaller pool hall type places in soiux city and such. yes i have my own table at my house. I know "high end" cues are Dimes a piece but from going to a 100 no name band of cue to a predator it is high end to me =P. I am hoping to talk to some guys that are really into one pocket or straights. most people around here don't know what those games are so i have to teach them to play it before i can start to beat them haha. but like i said before i'd just like to talk to more exspeirnced players and maybe learn a thing or to. i would rate myself at a C+ to B- player (haha sometimes better on my great days but they say you are only as good as your worst day). but thanks for all the feedback guys and hope to hear a lot more from you.
