I just finished reading and want to highly recommend the recently released book Have Pool Cue Will Travel. In large part it is about St. Louie Louie Roberts. I say in large part because it also covers the St. Louis pool scene in great and often humorous detail. The author, a former St. Louis policeman, pool hall owner, close friend of Louie and very good pool player, covers everything with a deep pool knowledge and a great sense of humor. It is a must for anyone's pool library.

It's on Kindle for $6.00 and available in paperback for $28.00. At the risk of sounding like a paid endorser (I'm not -- I don't know the author, I live in Atlanta, etc.), I'd recommend the paperback because there are a lot of pictures in the book which are very hard to read or even unreadable on a Kindle (or on my Kindle anyway). And I think it would be more fun to have it on a shelf than buried electronically on your Kindle.

Anyway, I bet if you read the book you will really like it.

Just downloaded it. If it's good enough I will order a copy for the shelf. Thanks for the heads up.

lets go

Mark is a regular at my shop in St. Louis. Always teaching little things nightly to us gamblers.

He gave me his wife's copy to read on my weekend away.

It is a great book with really cool stories about Louie and pool in general. It is easy to read as you wish chapter by chapter or skipping as I did. I was familiar with a lot of the people but I think anyone can relate to these stories. The Louie info is priceless.

I would really recommend picking this one up.
