Heres a good Web site I found on the grip. Its actually a snooker Web site but it has some good information. Has other aspects of the game as well. Check it out.
http://www.fcsnooker.co.uk/basics/the_grip/the_grip.htm

Make sure you use the links at the very top of the page to see other areas of the page(not the left side links). I almost missed those links at the top. Theres some great info on other aspects of the game.

Thanks, nice site. I really like the way they have photos alongside good quality line drawings that show the grips detail.

Thanks very much for the link. It is very very difficult to find in books, magazines, or anything on how to grip the cue. IMO, this is a very important key to stroking a great majority of the players gloss over.

I've read everything I can get my hands on for information on the grip and other fundamentals of the game and you might want to try some of these resources:

Books with grip information:

Black Widows guide to killer pool (good photo of cradle grip)

Play pool right by Phil capelle

Willie mosconi on pocket billiards

Videos:
Dr. Dave's video on his Website is a good shot of the grip. And he has a book with a DVD you can buy.

Don "the preacher" feeney
-Lesson 1, Sighting and Aiming
-Lesson 3, Stroking and advanced cueing techniques

The Billiards Sanctuary, Acacemy of the cuing arts earlier volumes on the fundamentals have some good grip information, you might want to try to find some used ones on ebay since they are a bit pricey.

Buddy Hall
Either the "clock system" or "9ball instructional" video has some good info on the grip and the stance. Pick up both if you can either way, getting any advice from a master like Buddy hall is worth the price of admission :)
