A couple of months ago I spoke with Mike Stacey about building an amboyna an ebony 6 point SW style cue. We agreed to the specs and he said he would find a nice block of amboyna.
In the meantime I talked to my good buddy Guycrunch and he said he thought this would be nice combination for a cue. He asked if it would be possible to have one built also with some subtle changes. No problem.
The cue specs are as follows: 3/8x11 SW style pin. Black phenolic flat faced joint. Ebony forearm, amboyna points, amboyna butt sleeve, ebony deco ring and amboyna butt cap. Then fancy rings in all 6 spots.
The only differences between Guy's cue and mine were the veneer colors (his cue will have white, green and black veneers. Mine will have white, blue and black) And we will use different leather wraps.
Today I received pics from Mike of the forearms in progress and the amboyna he will use in the butt sleeve and cap. Guy and I think everything looks great so far.
