I actually bought a Thompson sneaky as my very first cue a few years ago. Although I'm sure he makes some great hitting cues, the sneaky pete I bought from him hit exceptionally poorly. Quality was fine and workmanship seemed good, but the hit was just dead. I'd like to think that it was an isolated incident as other people I've heard from said his cues didn't hit bad, but my first experience with his cues kind of turned me off. For the price though, you don't have too much to lose.
