Happy Birthday Barbara!

Barbara,
Sounds like a great vacation except I don't see any mention of beautiful vistas from the pool table.
Happy BD. Celebrate it to the fullest but don't do anything that I would not do...lol

Veronique,

Thanks for the BD wishes. This post to you will be my last public post on this thread because it shouldn't take up the bandwidth.

Any thoughts of playing pool or any posting boards went right out of my mind when we arrived in Waynesboro, Virginia to enter Skyline Drive to go North. The Blue Ridge Mountains span about 600 miles of beauty you have to witness. I've now been able to correlate now a bunch of calendar/National Geographic Mags pics/and real life "us being there" pics. It's totally awesome. Skyline Drive is the northern drive that ends up in Port Royal VA, and the Blue Ridge Parkway is the southern start from Waynesboro VA that ends in the Great Smokey Mountains in Tennesee.

There was snow there!! It snowed 8" the week before we got there and they closed the drive for two days. Fortunately for us, it was a new moon the nights we watched the skies.

But you already know this. You're from one of the big sky states.

Take care!!

Barbara

Okay, we did pass by a pool place in Luray, VA, but we were looking for the caverns. Didn't get there, but there is a pool place in Luray, VA.

Barbara;;;; i took my wife down there a couple of years ago. 1st trip we came up thru there, the fog was so bad you could not see anything. so when we get home we find out that they are going to have great weather for the next week so we just turned around and went back down. only this time going south. my wife loved it. i used to travel that road when i was going to elkton virginia to visit friends. beautiful country for sure. we stayed at the motel on the hill right after you go thru the federal park. don't remember the name.......................mike

Happy birthday Barbara. When we flew into Philly back in July I think I saw your boat on The Delaware. I waved from the plane but I guess you didn't see me.

Anyway, hugs and kisses to you. :D
