Heavy wood shaft

Had a previous thread on an extra Schon shaft I ordered that I sent back for a grain structure I didn't care for. They promptly sent me a new one that looked really nice. Almost bleach white in color, but about .5 oz heavier than my stock Schon shafts, 4.7 oz vs 4.2 oz, although this one is a 30", vs stock shafts 29". I took it out to my shop and turned it down to the diameter, 12.65 m/m, and more of an elongated taper of one of my other Schon shafts that I had worked on and liked. It's now about 4.2 oz. I really like the crispness of hit of this shaft. While I'll probably still use my Jacoby Ultra in league, this will make a great spare shaft to bring along. What I'm wondering is, given two wood shafts of equal construction and build, if one is say .3 oz or so heavier than the other, how does that effect the play characteristics of the shaft, other than the balance, or does it?
