Edit: I found this post from 2005 about these cues:

Ernie Gutierrez, who looked at the wrap said it was old Cortland linen on this butt, probably from the mid seventies, so perhaps it's one of the alledged 50-100 the guy actually MIGHT have made by hand? The mystery continues bur Randy's info was super helpful.
