Help Identifying Old Brunswick

This old brunswick is located at our local American Legion. We are going to recover it and as long as I can remember when I use to live here the tables slate side pockets were "FILED best I can explain it" at an inward shape so when a ball rolls down the rail it sucks into the pocket like a golf put LOL. I suggested to the commander possibly getting a new center piece of slate from brunswick & fixing the old guy up right. So here we go.

I can't find any serial numbers or model name of the table anywhere on it. I am of course contacting brunswick with these pictures as well but wanted to post them here as I am sure if there is a place to get an ID it is AZ. I am guessing this table is made from maybe 60's from all I could find out from older locals that had been around the club that long but really NOT sure.

Thanks in advance for any help.

They know more about Brunswick than Brunswick knows about Brunswick.

By the way the rail bolts are not what Brunswick used to my knowledge. Either its been modified which would require new nuts
in the slate or special hex head bolt were made, since the Brunswick thread pitch is not standard or its not a Brunswick. Newell will be able to tell you.

You need to get under the table with a flash light. There are some marking on it somewhere. I would say it is older then the 60's. In the 60's they were already coming out with the Gold Crown and plastic and the modern look was all the thing. This table I think predates the Sport King and the Anniversary models.

Thanks for reference 3kushn

macguy I did look under the table and around it but I really didn't see anything. I will have to go back and look again though as I thought there should be some type of ID under it somewhere too.

Curiosity building now for me lol.

bbox. I noticed the sign on the end of your table. It says. "Please, no smoking over the table."
I was wondering. Is it alright to smoke under the table? :)

Trampsteamer in that Legion anything may be going on under the table, smoking not excluded lol.

It is an Oliver Briggs for anyone interested. I had made a post in the mechanic section as well. AZ user OTB knew it.

Thanks for the help guys.

I don't think so. The Oliver Briggs had tapered legs. It looks more like a Brunswick Madison to me. I re-conditioned a couple of these 20-30 years ago.

Tramp Steamer if the side pocket slate cut can be fixed we'll redo the rubbers, bed, rails, prob new pockets and get in good playing condition but I doubt we will do anything to the wood itself. Actually I know if they ever wanted that done it would not be by me. I am not a table mechanic, I can do basic stuff but no major details. The AL does not charge to play on it so as a member we won't charge them to get it in shape to have a decent 9' available for free use. They'll just pay the parts, and we'll spend a few hours having a beer and fix it. Might even get a few of the old timers on it for a game of 14.1 which I haven't played in years.

cuesmith have you seen side pocket slate cuts like that before on one of the brunswicks you redid? I find the way it was done quite bizarre, but I guess as much as equipment has changed over the years anything is possible if it is that old.
